The last ten days have passed very quickly and it has been a delight to be with girls and meet Emma who has her Gran on a very short lead!
Sammy has recuperated very well in part to the fact that Emma sleeps right through from about 7-30pm to 7-30am thus allowing her body to sleep and heal and of course she is young.
She has however lost 2st since Emma was born so the original problem does need to be addressed, she has further tests in the New Year.
I am sure no-one is really following politics in the States at the moment, but I am fascinated by the fact that the front runner in the Republican Party is a Mormon....I wonder what the Evangelicals think of that?....and all the rest are very liberal!!......no doubt someone will appear who fits the bill!!
I was asking my son last night why so many of our soldiers are being killed in Afghanistan when we have some of the most powerful weapons in the world, his answer was interesting. The answer is down to The Rules of Engagement!. Because we have not declared 'war' on the Taliban and are officially there on a Peace keeping mission we cannot pursue them!! we can only use enough force to protect ourselves....and don't they know it.

Over here Kev gets Cable TV which has kept me up to date with all the news but until last night Scotland had not even been mentioned apart from the weather. So you can imagine my surprise to see Wendy Alexanders face being beamed across Europe!
Can I resist a comment?......silly question!
Now if you or I landed in court for breaking the law would it be a sufficient excuse to say.." I didn't think it meant that"!! what makes all this so incredulous is the fact that it was them who made up these new rules. In Parliament they refer to each other as " honorable member or friend" the word 'honorable' means to show integrity......me thinks they should change the word.....any suggestions?!!

I opted not to go to rugby training this morning and have a peaceful time instead. I am watching BFBS on the TV. Leslie Garrett is hosting a Sunday show with a Christian theme. The question being asked is 'Why do more children run away from home at Christmas than any other time of the year?' ....the answer that seems to be coming to the fore is 'Family Stress'
One of the saddest things of todays life style is that what should be the happiest time of the year has become the most stressful. The pressure is on, to buy the best.....to buy what you think will be acceptable.......kids demand...even grown up kids!!!. The story gets lost in wrapping!
I haven't managed to get to a Christmas Market over here yet, but I have looked them up on line and one thing has struck me.....they are magical, only traditional goodies sold and very much child orientated.....and not over priced. They do not sell the latest gadgets!!!
We have lost something and need to get it back before it goes forever.

I read this on a blog I often read, it just seemed quite appropriate at this time. "If you were arrested today as a Christian and put on trial, would there be enough evidence to convict you?"[ add comment ] |

You can always tell it's a Friday as everyone starts to slow down, so getting the kids up and out for school was a tad more fractious this morning!
I know Halloween is long gone but I just could not resist posting this photo.
Emma and I are on our own this morning as Sammy heads out to the Med center.
I am tempted to make a remark on the situation in Sudan but I may regret it so will keep my thoughts to myself!!!!..that's a first!
I saw my first Red Squirrel this morning, this part of the camp is in the woods, in the summer it must be lovely.
Must go it's play time!!
