Shifting the blame.

22/11/2007, 22/11/2007
Gordon Brown may well apologise to Parliament and the country for the recent fiasco but it was interesting how he kept repeating the fact that this was down to one lowly junior employee not following procedures. Q1. Who told him to copy the discs in the first place? Q2 Did this person know the procedures for sending information externally and finally why when the Audit Office only asked for names and NI numbers was ALL the extra info sent and sent 3 times!!!
The PM has known about this since last week, yet yesterday he was still laying the blame at junior levels, it only took the media a few hours to discover the real truth....ie. these decisions were taken at a much higher level. Lies....deceit.....cover ups....what's new AND today another blunder another F & M leak.....as Mr Osborne said.....GET A GRIP! then we may all be able to sleep easy in our beds at night.
Dougal has been clipped and showered.....not sure if he is speaking to us!

There's nothing to beat a good laugh to start the day off .

They say a good laugh does wonders and this morning I had just that, coffee with Cath & Phil found us reminiscing about funerals!!....not usually a laughing matter....well that depends.
Looking back over my life I have had a number of funny occasions not least the one at the funeral of Francis Coulson the late owner of The Sharrow Bay hotel.
It would take too long relate this story, suffice to say I did not even know the man, yet there I was sitting in Carlisle Cathedral with all the great and good from the acting world around me!.....I really had to put an act on that day!!!
Cath & Phil on the other hand once found themselves at the wrong funeral!.....when she should have been at her dads!
Death itself is not a laughing matter but how we play out our lives on some of these occasions can be, the healthy thing is being able to look back and laugh at yourself, this applies to many situations that are played out in the theatre of life.

Lost.

20/11/2007, 20/11/2007
It appears the Inland Revenue Dept of this government have 'lost' something.....a disc containing bank details of 15m recipients of Child Benefit. Yesterday the Treasury admitted that the money used to shore up the rocky Northern Rock was OUR money and could not guarantee we would get it back. So I guess that could be 'lost' as well. Then there was the admission that thousands of illegal immigrants have been 'lost' in the system.
This is the government who says security is a number one priority.....who are they kidding, nothing is secure with them, yet they keep their highly paid jobs which are paid for by our taxes. When I wonder are the people of this country and by that I mean the UK going to wake up and say enough is enough. Gordon Brown wants to prove himself, well he has made a dismal start.....I for one am not impressed by this 'son of the manse'
I see that one of Tony Blair's major projects in Palestine is to fund a new sewage system within the country.....I say no more!!!
My trip to Germany draws ever nearer, Sammy may be out of hospital today but will be unable to do much for a while, Kev goes back to work on Monday after he has shown me the shortest route to the school. From then on I am chief cook and bottle washer and everything else for 10days....not sure where the energy will come from!

Supporting friends.

19/11/2007, 19/11/2007
Today we set of for the day but for some reason or other we just decided to do our usual food shop and come home, was that intuitive?
We were only in the door a few minutes when our friend arrived, she was having a bad day, as many do who have recently been bereaved. That is what friendship is all about. Dougal was delighted also because she brought Benji along.
We eventually sat down to lunch at 3pm!....it will be dark very soon and we wonder where our days go!
