Do our eyes deceive us?

I have been catching up with other blogs this morning. Maggie who writes Marginal Views has been talking about truth all week, a very interesting subject.
She asks "is there such a thing as absolute truth?"....I suppose that depends on what the 'absolute' is! as I sit looking out of the window I sea a yacht sailing past....that is an absolute truth anyone who looks can see it.
If I was then to add it is sailing past trees whose leaves have turned orange that might not be an absolute truth to
all, some people may be colour blind!... and so it is with life. We all have our blind spots which alter from time to time, sometimes we go further and deliberately close our eyes and ears, the pain or the challenge to much.
Truth can be both liberating and painful. We are told in the bible that "The truth shall set you free"....the absolute there being God...but even there, we as humans can twist the absolute!....oh dear I'm getting to deep! So I close with this, life has taught me to always be open to truth in particular the truth of others, this is how we grow and learn.

Tired but not weary!

When there is a reason for feeling tired you don't get depressed about it!
Our visit South was very positive, we are tired but never felt stressed, which I think came as a bit of a surprise.
This probably came about because we were able to form our own routine, go at our own pace and have our own space!!
The weather helped so we were able to get out and let the kids burn off some energy.

Dougal is flat out on the couch feeling much the same!
Tonight the clocks go back and it will really begin to feel like winter, no doubt the weather will catch up too!

Half a day to go!!!

A trip to Hammonds Pond filled the morning nicely, I was not the only Grandmother on duty!
Then trip into town with Marsh to get his birthday present all in all a much quieter day than yesterday.
It has been over a year since I last ventured up town so it was interesting to see the different shops....many old ones gone like Littlewoods and Bulloughs.
Ray asked me if I would like to live here again.....an emphatic NO was the answer!!....it is nice to visit, even being in the woods at Canonbie was a positive experience BUT there's no place like home and Argyll is my home now.
My ex got himself into a state and put himself into hospital becuase Dougie was going to be away......no change there then!!.....a phone call today advised me he was coming home...I sent Marshall round!!!.....it's called survival!

Grandma rules....or is it Grandma's rules!!!!

Lay down the ground rules.....and pray!! Two days down..1.5 to go!
A drastic cut in crisps....coke....sweets and biscuits mean a lot less E's!! which in turn makes for a quieter house. Add to that plenty of running about through the woods and we might just survive!!...it's easy really ...keep to Grandma's rules and we will all survive!
The sun has shone every day but it was cold watching wee Joe play footie last night. He scored the first goal and was 'man of the match'....his face was beaming...it was a delight to see.
WE WILL SURVIVE!
