Family holidays with siblings are not something I am used to, in fact I cannot remember ever having one so a week on Colonsay with my brother and his wife was a new experience for me. There was a time when I would have felt intimidated by such a high flyer....big brothers can do that!
So does having a purpose in life bring confidence? and what now of that purpose? 2days after what would appear to be a disaster I find myself buoyed up and still raring to go! I see no negatives only positives....an opportunity for new directions new paths leading to the same goal, the goal being to care about the most vulnerable of our society. What vehicle I use to travel with is not clear at the moment but continue to travel I will.

If anyone is under the misconception that digital TV gives you a better service, then come and live here! If the mist sweeps down over the mountains then forget all BBC programmes!....I even mist our own Party Election Broadcast last night.....not that it really matters as we have our very own copy of it on a DVD!
So warm humid weather does not suit DigiBoxes!
Anyone watching the London Marathon on Sunday would also see the effect the warm weather was having down there...23deg no less, phew..just standing watching would have knackered me!
Today has so far been one of those rare days when it was possible to have a good old fashioned lay in....it was 9-50 before I opened my eyes!..the shock of which I may add had me jumping out of bed! Not sure why, it's raining so I can't hoover or wash the Disco...maybe someone is trying to tell me something!

I am usually a very organised person but time and energy are beating me this time. We are off to Colonsay in 4days time, so far I have only managed to book the Disco on the boat. My order of service is done as is the sermon, but the more mundane things like clean the Disco, plan the food and think about clothes and do the washing have all taken a back seat.
Today I am in Glasgow again, Bearsden in the morning and The Great Grey debate at the City Chambers this afternoon.
I have said nothing so far about the events in the USA last week....what can I say that has not already been said....my heart aches for all including the family of the gunman.

Verses 1-3.
" As I was floating down unconcerned Rivers
I no longer felt myself steered by the haulers:
Gaudy Redskins had taken them for targets
Nailing them naked to coloured stakes.
I cared nothing for all my crews,
Carrying Flemish wheat or English cottons.
When, along with my haulers those uproars were done
with.
The Rivers let me sail downstream where I pleased.
Into the ferocious tide-rips
Last winter, more absorbed than the minds of
children,
I ran! And the unmoored Peninsulas
Never endured more triuphant clamourings."
JUMP ABOARD!!!

I have just been listening to Maggie Shiels interviewing George and Louise Wyllie on a web cast. This must be one of the most interesting and entertaining interviews she has done so far with wanna be MSP's!....we gasped a few times and laughed a lot. This is George the man who will not be tamed who thinks out of the box, the man who has encouraged me to jump aboard the 'Drunken Boat' as see where it takes me.
From listening to George I then went on to read the Cumberland News on-line and picked up an article about 1000 primary school children in England who have been excluded from school, 60 of which were 5 or under.
What is happening to our society that children under five are being excluded from school, it is so easy to blame parents but what about the government, Gordon Brown parades his policy of Nursery Education for all children 3+...who gains, certainly not the children.
The treasury reap the rewards not the kids.....more people working = more tax coming in. What happened to motherhood, what happened to nurturing our kids...the first 5yrs of their lives are the most important, bonds formed that can never be broken.
We wonder why parents don't connect with their children anymore, they don't connect because they don't know them.
Their individuality is lost as they are left to sit in front of a screen be it TV or a computer and before we know it a stranger stands before us the child is gone, the ground lost for ever.
