Okay...so it's a snowday.

18/01/2007, 18/01/2007
The white stuff arrived today, yesterday it stayed in the mountains giving a glorious backdrop to the views around us.
We had decided that today would be a chilling out day anyway......not sure if this is what we meant though!
So it was two episodes of Lost and a catch up on the net....lazy day!
I did watch a few minutes of Live questions from Westminster. Jack Straw only answered 1 of the 5 questions put to him and that was one about ridicules H&S laws. It seems to me that if you don't want to answer a question about present issues the trick is to bring up the past......10yrs past in fact.....then say you've answered the question!!!......would that stand up in a court of law I ask myself!!.....and WE pay them to do this!!!!
Tomorrow I have been invited to a meeting of the SSCUP at Motherwell Football Club.....there must be an election on the horizon......actually I will be on Colonsay when it happens....so we will see.

Four Seasons in one day

17/01/2007, 17/01/2007
Well we have had a taste of all weathers today bringing a real chill to my old bones.
Life is strange at times, you can go along doing the same things week in and week out.....almost like treading water then suddenly choices are thrown before you pulling you in different directions all demanding much of your time.
Is it right to choose all and thus split yourself, your time and your energies or do you choose one path and give it your all? Is it a coincidence that choices come up together or is it a test?....and if a test....by whom?
Part of me just wants to tread water.....but then I know as I read on a blog this morning...."The greatest waste in life is the waste of a mind!"
So where will my mind and my heart take me....where do my talents lie?......might need some help here!!

Out and about in the SUN!!!!

16/01/2007, 16/01/2007
Yes folks the sun actually shone today.....not a cloud in the sky so of we went up the Clyde Valley to New Lanark.....what for you may ask......well wool of course....herself being into knitting at the moment.
On the way however we were reminded of what had gone before.
On the way back we paid a visit to the new Tesco's at Pollockshaws.....they have a whole aisle devoted to World Foods...it took me nearly an hour to get down it....and the prices were impressive to.
Today is the 300th anniversary of the Union between Scotland and England, opinion seems to be divided as to whether it should continue. If ever one person could be blamed for so much anti- Westminster feeling at the moment....that person is Tony Blair. If Labour is to have any chance in the forth coming elections he should go NOW.....not that I want them to have any chance!!!

No where for the water to go!

15/01/2007, 15/01/2007
One of these days I will remember to throw my camera in the car when I go out and about. The Devere group have built a new Golf Course along the banks of Loch Lomond.....it is under water!! and along the road where we park for the Scottish Open is also under water......so I guess Scotland will not run out of water this coming summer.....maybe we could sell some down South!
Yesterday Allister was talking about Stepping Stones, in particular the ones that have helped us over the years in our walk of faith. We were asked to write down people, places. churches etc that have brought us to where we are now. Then we were encouraged to look....not behind but to where we are going individually and as a church.
They are hoping get use of the empty out door centre and use it as an Alternative Church!.....something different and less threatening to meet the needs of the area. A brave vision! he is a man of vision and a man with a heart for people and there are many in his church who will boldly go with him.
I suppose it is about finding your place in all this.

Gusty Glasgow!

13/01/2007, 13/01/2007
When we first arrived in town it appeared that we had left the wind behind.....but no....during our brief stay it somewhat gathered pace again and every corner had its challenge! Now we are no light weights but there was one turned corner that even brought us to a stand still.
I have decided that children's films offer much more entertainment than adult ones these days. Happy Feet was a joy. For those who have not seen it....it was about a young Penguin who could not sing BUT he could dance!.....and that was frowned upon by the 'Elders'! of the commune. Reminded me of the past especially where the chief elder said something like this..' Difference brings dis-unity.....dis-unity brings division so begone you backsliders'.....now where have I heard those words before?!!
So we battled our way home via the military road unaware that by now Helensburgh was on high alert because of the high tide and gales.....good choice on our part!
Today we are chilling out and it is the turn of our hosts to run the gauntlet into town!
